It is highly decorative in aquariums and very useful in a vivarium for arboreal reptiles to climb. It also serves as a perch for birds.
You can decorate them by adding moss or plants such as Microsorum, Anubias, or Cryptocoryne, whose roots will cling to it.
In aquariums, its natural tannins will lower the pH. However, it is recommended to boil the wood for a few minutes before adding it to the aquarium. It will float before sinking.
