Banana-free is perfect for geckos who don't seem to really like banana-flavored foods. By using other staple fruits, we were able to incorporate fig into the diet while maintaining very low levels of oxalic acid. We have incorporated crickets and black fly larvae as the main source of protein. This formula contains twice as many insects as our original "With Insects" formula.
Fig and bugs form mix a bit thinner than other formulas due to the lack of banana as an ingredient, but geckos seem to like this smaller mix. It may be more difficult to see the lick marks, so we recommend that you start by offering smaller amounts so you can see it go away.
We have been offering this formula for a few months and will decide, based on feedback from customers and sellers, to make it a permanent addition to our line of gecko staples.

Directions for use: Mix 1 part powder to 2 parts water, adjust to obtain the desired consistency. This mixture is not as thick as our other formulas because there is no banana. Offer food daily and remove uneaten food after 24 hours. The prepared mixture is good for up to 7 days if refrigerated. Dry, opened mix is suitable for 6 months at room temperature or 1 year if refrigerated. The unopened shelf life is 2 years. Occasional insect feeding is recommended but optional.
