Product description:
Guava leaves (Psidium guajava) are a highly sought-after tropical botanical for natural/blackwater aquariums and bioactive terrariums. They are known for their good durability (they often decompose more slowly than many other leaves) and for releasing moderate tannins, perfect for achieving slightly amber water and a more “biotope” atmosphere.
In aquariums, they quickly become an excellent surface for biofilm (grazing surface) and provide hiding spots for shrimp, fry, and microfauna. They are also often noted for their natural antibacterial/antifungal properties (used by many aquarists as a “wellness” botanical, without replacing proper maintenance). In terrariums, they enrich the substrate, create microhabitats, and feed the living cycle as they decompose.

Highlights:
100% natural (size/color may vary)
Durable leaves : gradual decomposition, good longevity
In aquariums: moderate tannins + excellent support for biofilm
Often sought for their natural antibacterial/antifungal properties
In terrariums: substrate + microhabitats + food for microfauna

Usage (terrarium):
Place the leaves on the surface of the substrate to create a litter layer.
Layer them to increase hiding spots and humid areas.
In bioactive setups: let the microfauna do the work; replace/add as needed.

Usage (aquarium):
Rinse quickly.
Optional: pre-soak for 12–24 hours (or quick boil for 1–2 minutes) to help them sink faster and control initial coloration.
