It is ideal as a decorative substrate for creating natural settings containing plants in terrariums for humidity-loving reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates that originate from tropical rainforests.
The tropical rainforest substrate naturally regulates the humidity level in the terrarium by absorbing it and then releasing it slowly. The addition of natural sphagnum moss to the substrate maximizes the latter's hygroscopic power. In addition, adequate humidity in the air promotes moulting reptiles and helps prevent respiratory infections.
In addition, the unique size and shape of the bark pieces in combination with natural sphagnum moss allows frequent irrigation of plants, in addition to providing good aeration for healthy root growth. The substrate is also heat treated to reduce bacterial contamination.
