Most reptiles use direct radiant heat from the sun in combination with conductive heat from sun-heated surfaces such as branches, rocks or other heat accumulating structures. Providing such an appropriate, species related, temperature gradient in the terrarium is an important factor in successful reptile keeping.

With the Exo Terra 100 W/ 300 W Electronic ON/OFF Thermostat you can create a well controlled heating system that allows you to maintain the required temperature conditions similar to those found in a desert or tropical environment. The Thermostat will also help to prevent overheating and undercooling during hot summer days or cold winter nights. The electronic Triac switch keeps the temperature at the desired setpoint with a much higher accuracy compared to conventional thermostats and virtually eliminates temperature swings in the terrarium. Simply connect your Heat Mat, Heat Cable or Ceramic Heater to the Exo Terra ON/OFF Thermostat, set the preferred temperature and place the heat sensor in the desired spot. The Red LED heat indicator will light up when the heating device is ON and will shut off once the desired temperature has been reached. The recessed dial of the thermostat will prevent accidental temperature change if the device is being handled. The waterproof remote sensor can be safely used in highly moist terrariums and aquatic environments.

The Exo Terra Thermostat should be set according to the needs of the animals. Thoroughly research the preferred optimum temperature range (POTR) for your specific reptile, so you can create the correct temperature gradients inside the terrarium to allow your reptiles to thermoregulate.

Main characteristics:

  Accurately controls terrarium temperatures
Ideal for use with Heat Mats and Heat Cables
  From 20°C up to 35°C (68°F – 95°F)
  Waterproof remote sensor
  Controls heating devices up to 100 W/ 300 W

PT2459: Dimmer and proportional pulsation thermostat with day and night function, 600 W

It has all the features mentioned above, but in addition:
Daytime and nighttime temperatures can be set separately to ensure safe daytime and nighttime temperature fluctuations for your reptiles. The 'Dimming' & 'Pulse Proportional' feature maintains the temperature at the desired set point with far greater accuracy than conventional thermostats and virtually eliminates temperature variations in the terrarium.

The easy-to-read blue LCD screen displays the actual and set temperature, automatically increases the brightness of the LCD screen in day mode, and uses low light in night mode. A red LED and a heater symbol indicate when the heater is on. Once the set temperature is reached, the LED turns blue and the heating symbol is no longer displayed.

The temperature sensor with integrated light sensor automatically switches between daytime and nighttime temperature setting, depending on the light intensity. Simply connect your heating mat, heating cable, ceramic heater or heating bulb to the day / night thermostat, set your preferred day and night temperatures and place the heat sensor where you want it.

Main characteristics :
Dimming and pulse function controls the terrarium temperatures very precisely
10 ° C to 60 ° C (50 ° F - 140 ° F)
The red LED and the heater symbol indicate when the heater is on
Push button / numbering system to prevent accidental setting or tampering
Controls heaters up to 600W
