Microsorum thailandicum, also sometimes called the blue fern of Thailand, is a rare and highly decorative fern. It is particularly prized for the metallic sheen of its foliage. Indeed, its distinctive feature is its iridescent, almost metallic, blue-green color, sometimes reminiscent of the shimmering wings of certain butterflies. It prefers bright, indirect light; direct sunlight can scorch its leaves. Also avoid hard water, which can stain its foliage. It thrives in humid conditions (60–80%), making it an ideal plant for terrariums or tropical greenhouses. It is easy to care for if warmth and humidity are maintained.
