The Thika palm leaves are a highly valued tropical botanical for creating an aesthetic and functional leaf litter, both in bioactive terrariums and natural/blackwater aquariums. They add a different texture (a “palm” look), create hiding spots on the ground, and become an excellent support for microfauna (terrarium) and biofilm (aquarium).
In aquariums, like many botanicals, they can release tannins and other organic compounds that contribute to slightly amber-colored water (depending on dosage) and a more natural ambiance.

Usage (terrarium):
