Product description:
Dwarf White (Trichorhina tomentosa) are very popular micro woodlice in bioactive terrariums. Discreet and efficient, they continuously work in the substrate to help break down organic waste (food scraps, dead leaves, small molds) and contribute to keeping the soil cleaner and more stable.
They reproduce quickly under good conditions and are especially appreciated because they mostly stay below the surface, making them perfect for terrariums where you want an “invisible” cleanup crew.
Quantity: 20
Highlights:
Excellent “cleanup crew”: consumes waste, plant debris, and micro-molds
Highly prolific if humidity and food are adequate
Mostly stays in the substrate (ideal for planted terrariums)
Well suited for small terrariums and species sensitive to stress
Can also serve as supplemental food for certain small reptiles/amphibians (depending on species)
Care & Parameters:
Humidity: high (they perform better with a substrate that is always slightly moist).
Tip: maintain a gradient (a moist zone + a drier zone).
Temperature: around 20–26°C (tolerant, but reproduction is faster under stable conditions).
Food:
continuous leaf litter (base)
supplements: vegetable pieces, La Swamp woodlouse food, etc. (in small amounts)
Calcium: always provide a source (cuttlefish bone, calcium, well-dried eggshells, etc.)
Note: in some very humid terrariums, they can become dominant. If you want a more “visible” microfauna, combine with a larger woodlouse species.
