Product description:
The Armadillidium vulgare “Tangerine” are a highly appreciated variety in bioactive terrariums, valued both for their vibrant appearance and their usefulness. They help with terrarium cleaning by consuming organic debris (dead leaves, decaying wood, leftover food) and contribute to keeping the substrate cleaner and more stable.
Like other A. vulgare, they thrive well in a well-established terrarium with plenty of leaf litter and a humidity gradient (wet zone + drier zone).
Quantity: 15
Highlights:
Good “cleanup crew”: consumes plant debris and decomposing matter
Attractive variety (Tangerine) and interesting for display terrariums
Robust species and easy to maintain if the gradient is respected
More visible than micro woodlice, interesting to observe
Can roll into a ball (typical Armadillidium behavior)
Tips & Parameters:
Humidity: moderate (wet zone needed, but a drier zone is essential).
Tip: maintain a gradient (a wet zone + a drier zone).
Temperature: around 18–26°C (tolerant; more stable breeding under constant conditions).
Food:
continuous leaf litter (base)
supplements: vegetable pieces, La Swamp woodlouse food, etc. (in small amounts)
Calcium: always have a source available (cuttlefish bone, calcium, well-dried eggshells, etc.)
Warning: avoid soggy substrate and overfeeding (mold/mite issues). Regularly add dry leaves and some decaying wood to maintain a good food base.
