Product description:
The Venezillo parvus (“Dwarf Rolly Polly”) are small woodlice highly valued in bioactive terrariums. Efficient and relatively discreet, they help break down organic waste (dead leaves, decaying wood, food scraps, small molds) and contribute to keeping the substrate cleaner and more stable.
Their “rolly polly” behavior (they can curl into a ball) and smaller size make them an excellent option for terrariums where you want an active microfauna without having large, very visible woodlice.
Quantity: 10
Highlights:
Good “cleanup crew”: consumes waste, plant debris, and micro-molds
Small size: ideal for small terrariums and stress-sensitive species
Can curl into a ball (typical “rolly polly” behavior)
Helps stabilize the bioactive substrate over the long term
Easy to maintain with a good leaf litter and a humidity gradient
Tips & Parameters:
Humidity: medium to high (they like a humid area but also appreciate a drier zone).
Tip: maintain a gradient (a humid zone + a drier zone).
Temperature: around 20–26°C (faster reproduction under stable conditions).
Food:
continuous leaf litter (base)
supplements: vegetable pieces, La Swamp woodlice food, etc. (in small amounts)
Calcium: always have a source available (cuttlefish bone, calcium, well-dried eggshells, etc.)
Warning: avoid excess wet food (it can attract mold/mites). If the terrarium is very humid and poorly ventilated, feed smaller amounts more often.
