Product description:
The Porcellio spinicornis are woodlice highly valued in bioactive terrariums for their robustness and efficiency. They help to break down organic waste (dead leaves, decaying wood, food scraps) and contribute to keeping the substrate cleaner and more stable.
This species is generally active and quite visible, performing very well in a well-established terrarium with a good leaf litter and a humidity gradient (wet zone + drier zone).
Quantity: 15
Key Points:
Species robust and tolerant
Good “cleanup crew”: consumes plant debris and decomposing matter
Often active and quite visible under hiding spots
Helps stabilize the bioactive substrate in the long term
Good choice for well-established bioactive terrariums
Tips & Parameters:
Humidity: moderate (they like a wet zone but need a drier zone).
Tip: maintain a gradient (a wet zone + a drier zone).
Temperature: around 18–26°C (tolerant; more stable breeding under constant conditions).
Food:
continuous leaf litter (base)
supplements: pieces of vegetables, woodlouse food like La Swamp, etc. (in small amounts)
Calcium: always have a source available (cuttlefish bone, calcium, well-dried eggshells, etc.)
