This epiphytic fern with bluish foliage has pubescent rhizomes. Its upright, rounded habit can create an interesting effect by adding movement. In a garden setting, it catches the eye with the silvery-blue color of its leaves. Although it doesn't have a trailing habit, the blue star fern is also charming in a hanging pot thanks to its compact and bushy appearance. It may lose its leaves if the air is too dry or too cold.
