The Drosera capensis has long green leaves covered in red glands that secrete a sticky mucilage to trap insects. From May to October, it can produce magenta flowers. This carnivorous plant is considered one of the easiest to care for. In fact, unlike Venus flytraps and pitcher plants, a winter dormancy period is not necessary. However, to keep it alive year-round, it needs a bright location at all times. It is important to water it with demineralized water, which can be purchased at a pharmacy, or with rainwater. Melted snow also works very well!
