A unique cactus thanks to its flattened, racket-like stems, called cladodes. In its natural habitat, it produces edible fruits called prickly pears. Its leaves are also edible. However, indoors, it rarely flowers. Like most cacti, it prefers warmth and light.
Non-toxic to animals.
