Also called the Twisted Hoya, due to the fact that its twisted leaves almost seem to curl, giving it the appearance of a rope. The 'Compacta' variety has a rather trailing habit, while the common Hoya Carnosa variety, known as the 'wax plant' or 'porcelain flower', is a climbing plant. Its spectacular blooms feature between thirty and fifty small, waxy, star-shaped flowers. The magnificent white and pink flowers become more vibrant in the evening. However, it rarely blooms before it is two years old. To encourage flowering, it is recommended to place it in a bright room and to reduce the frequency of repotting. It likes to be kept tightly in its pot!
